No strangers to the local dining scene, Chepe and Eileen Garcia opened their first Chicago restaurant, Buona Terra, in the Logan Square neighborhood in 2002. The opportunity to open another restaurant came 13 years later with the purchase of the building that would become Buona Terra’s sister restaurant, Hearth and Crust.
Chef Chepe has traveled all over Italy and has always been most inspired by the way Italians shop every day for the freshest ingredients. It has inspired how he makes ingredient decisions at his restaurants. He continues to make regular visits and always returns with new menu ideas and incredible wine selections. This is the way we have been doing it for almost 20 years at Buona Terra and here at Hearth & Crust. We pride ourselves on high-quality ingredients, great wine, beer and cocktail selections and our service. We are always gracious and friendly toward our guests—who are really more like family to us.
